Blå Kaktus - Gumbo

Gothenburg-based Gumbo was formed after a trip to New Orleans in 2001 and has since toured Sweden and Europe. They play blues, boogie, roots and soul rooted in New Orleans and Louisiana, and are sometimes described as Gothenburg's own The Meters. The band has four albums to their name and a couple of live-broadcast concerts on SR P4.

Band members have previously toured and recorded with artists such as Freddie Wadling, Roffe Wikström, Totta and Sven Zetterberg. In autumn 2026, Gumbo releases their fourth album "Waiting for Us", and it is precisely that album that takes centre stage this evening - mixed with songs from the band's earlier catalogue.

Gumbo consists of:
Mikael Westman - vocals & guitar
PJ Altin - piano & organ
Henrik Bengtsson - bass
Michael Edlund - drums
Olof Skoog - tenor saxophone
Niklas Carlsson - trombone
