Gothenburg's Natural History Museum, founded in 1833, is one of the oldest and largest of its kind in Sweden. Its collections span animals, minerals and fossils from across the globe. The museum is particularly known for its mounted blue whale - a rare specimen - and sits alongside the Slottsskogen park.
