Twin brothers Amistat perform indie-folk with acoustic arrangements and tight harmonies.
Amistat is an indie folk duo formed by twin brothers Jan and Josef Prasil, born in Germany and raised in Italy, with family roots in the Czech Republic and Australia. After honing their craft through years of busking in Melbourne, they relocated back to Europe in 2019 and are now based in Berlin. Signed to Nettwerk Music Group, they build their sound around close vocal harmonies and fingerpicked acoustic guitar - drawing comparisons to Simon & Garfunkel and Ben Howard. Their 2025 EP 'what we are' marked a step toward a more stripped-down folk palette, adding banjo and mandolin to their arrangements.
Amistat performed in Whistler, BC, Canada on July 17, 2026, marking one of their North American summer dates.
Amistat released a reimagined version of their song 'goodbye' featuring singer-songwriter Emily James, following a friendship formed while touring the United States together.
Amistat appeared at OpenAir St. Gallen festival in Switzerland (June 25-28, 2026) and played a support slot in Duisburg, Germany on June 19, 2026.
Amistat released their EP 'what we are' via Nettwerk Music Group in late March 2025, expanding their sound with banjo and mandolin.
The 'what we are' EP launched a large European tour in spring 2025, including dates in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Paris, Brussels and London.
