Barrett Martin (born 1967, Olympia, Washington) is an American drummer, composer, producer, and ethnomusicologist who rose to prominence as the drummer for Seattle grunge acts Screaming Trees and the supergroup Mad Season. A Grammy and Latin Grammy winner, he holds a master's degree in ethnomusicology and has contributed to over 150 albums and film soundtracks, ranging from R.E.M. and Queens of the Stone Age to collaborations recorded across six continents. He has also written four books and leads his own jazz-fusion outfit, the Barrett Martin Group.
