Beirut is the project of American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Zach Condon, born in 1986 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He launched the band in 2006 with the debut album 'Gulag Orkestar', drawing on Balkan folk music, brass arrangements and indie pop in a sound that set him apart from his contemporaries. Now based in Berlin, Condon has released seven studio albums and built a devoted international following across two decades of restless musical exploration.
Beirut released 'A Study of Losses', an 18-track album commissioned by Swedish circus Kompani Giraff, on April 18, 2025 via Pompeii Records.
Beirut returned to touring for the first time since 2019, playing dates in Utrecht, Brussels and London in May 2025.
Beirut announced a summer 2026 German tour with shows in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne in support of 'A Study of Losses'.
Beirut released the single 'Caspian Tiger' in November 2024, the first preview of the then-upcoming album.
Beirut released 'Hadsel', recorded on a remote Norwegian island, on November 10, 2023 via Pompeii Records.
