Gong is a British-French psychedelic rock collective founded in Paris in 1967 by Australian musician Daevid Allen and vocalist Gilli Smyth. The band weaves together space rock, jazz and an elaborate mythology known as the Radio Gnome Invisible universe, and has operated as a fluid, ever-changing lineup since its earliest days. After Allen's death in March 2015, the current quintet - led by vocalist and guitarist Kavus Torabi - has continued under his explicit wishes. With over 16 studio albums spanning more than five decades, Gong remain one of the most enduring names in progressive and psychedelic rock.
Gong announced additional 2026 tour dates covering the UK, France, Germany, Netherlands and Norway following the release of Bright Spirit.
Gong released their new studio album Bright Spirit on 13 March 2026 via Kscope, the third instalment in a trilogy begun with The Universe Also Collapses (2019).
Gong announced Bright Spirit and released the lead single 'The Wonderment' alongside a music video in January 2026.
The single 'Stars In Heaven' was released in November 2025 as the first preview of the then-upcoming album Bright Spirit.
Gong embarked on a North American tour in autumn 2024, their first extended run on that continent in several years.
