About

Hurula is the stage name of Robert Hurula Pettersson, a Swedish singer-songwriter and artist born in Luleå in 1979. He first made his mark in the punk bands Masshysteri and The Vicious before launching a solo career in 2014 with the debut album Vi är människorna våra föräldrar varnade oss för. Known for raw, socially realistic lyrics sung in Swedish, he has won the Swedish Grammy for Årets Rock three years running (2019, 2020, 2021) and released his sixth studio album EXISTENS in August 2025.

Hurula announced a Nordic summer tour following a sold-out Scandinavian run from November 2025 to March 2026.

Hurula's sixth studio album EXISTENS was released on 8 August 2025, recorded live at Redmount Studios in Stockholm with producer Niklas Berglöf.

Hurula performed at Way Out West in Gothenburg in connection with the EXISTENS release, drawing praise from Aftonbladet and Expressen (both 4/5).

Hurula performed the lead single 'Ett annat språk' at the 2025 Grammisgalan, and was nominated for Årets Rock and Årets Textförfattare for EXISTENS.
