Norwegian rock band Kaizers Orchestra performs in Malmö.
Kaizers Orchestra is a Norwegian alternative rock sextet formed in Bryne/Bergen on 1 January 2000, fronted by singer and principal songwriter Janove Ottesen. Their sound fuses rock with Eastern European folk, cabaret and unconventional percussion - oil barrels and brake drums among them - a style the band calls 'Shitty Polka'. Eight studio albums, including the five-year Violeta Violeta trilogy, made them one of Norway's biggest bands ever; they are also among the first Norwegian acts outside black metal to build a following abroad while singing exclusively in Norwegian. After a decade-long hiatus (2013-2023) they staged a comeback that sold 82,000 reunion-tour tickets in under 15 minutes.
Kaizers Orchestra announced a new European club tour for October 2026, returning to intimate venues after their 2025 Norwegian stadium run.
The band headlined stadium-size venues in Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Copenhagen as the climax of their comeback phase.
Kaizers Orchestra announced their first-ever US tour, with five dates in Boston, New York, Washington D.C., Minneapolis and Los Angeles in October 2024.
The band released 'Dine gamle dager er nå', their first new single in ten years, to favorable reviews in Norway.
In November 2022 Kaizers Orchestra confirmed their reunion, and the subsequent 56-date Norwegian comeback tour sold out in under 15 minutes.
