About

Kebnekajse is a Swedish psychedelic folk-rock band formed in Stockholm in the early 1970s from members of Mecki Mark Men. Led by guitarist Kenny Håkansson, they were among the first to electrify traditional Swedish folk melodies - polskas, fiddle tunes and ancient songs - driving them through hard rock and psychedelic textures. Their 1971 debut *Resa mot okänt mål* and the folk-rock albums *Kebnekajse II* (1973) and *Kebnekajse III* (1975) are cornerstones of Swedish progressive music. After disbanding in 1978 they reformed in the early 2000s and have continued touring and recording, releasing three well-reviewed albums since their return.
