Danish jazz trio Little North presents their album Crossing Currents at Nefertiti. With vibraphonist Joel Ross and saxophonist Hannes Bennich, they create a fusion of Nordic sound and international jazz energy.
Little North is a Danish piano trio - pianist Benjamin Nørholm Jacobsen, bassist Martin Brunbjerg Rasmussen and drummer Lasse Jacobsen - that has released six albums since 2020 and built a firm reputation on the European jazz scene. The group operates as a true collective where all three members compose, drawing on Nordic lyricism, modern minimalism and the American jazz tradition. Their 2026 album Crossing Currents, recorded at Brooklyn's Bunker Studio with vibraphonist Joel Ross and saxophonist Hannes Bennich, is released on the German label ACT Music and marks the trio's ten-year anniversary.
Crossing Currents, Little North's sixth album, was released on 26 June 2026 via ACT Music, recorded at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn with vibraphonist Joel Ross and saxophonist Hannes Bennich.
Paris Move described Crossing Currents as one of the most compelling contemporary jazz albums of the year, praising its blend of Nordic lyricism and New York creative energy.
Crossing Currents marks the trio's ten-year anniversary since their debut recording Yonder, and features Joel Ross as both guest and co-producer.
Little North's ACT Music debut While You Wait was released in early 2024, featuring Norwegian trumpeter Oscar Andreas Haug.
Little North was selected as Denmark's representative for the Nordic Jazz Comets programme in 2022, and their album Familiar Places was twice featured on the cover of Spotify's State of Jazz playlist.
