About

Lustans Lakejer is a Swedish new wave group formed in Stockholm in 1978, led throughout by singer-songwriter Johan Kinde as its only permanent member. Starting out with a post-punk edge influenced by Roxy Music, Ultravox and David Bowie, the band shifted toward a more polished synthpop and new romantic sound on their breakthrough albums Uppdrag i Genève (1981) and En plats i solen (1982). After splitting in the mid-1980s they have reunited several times, releasing new material as recently as 2022, and remain one of the most enduring acts in Swedish new wave.
