Michael Monroe (born Matti Fagerholm, 17 June 1962, Helsinki) is a Finnish rock singer and multi-instrumentalist, best known as the frontman and co-founder of Hanoi Rocks - the glam-punk band that shaped the Los Angeles rock scene of the 1980s and directly influenced acts from Guns N' Roses to Mötley Crüe. After Hanoi Rocks disbanded in 1985, Monroe built a solo career spanning 13 studio albums, most recently Outerstellar (2026), and remains one of the most internationally recognised Finnish rock artists of all time.
Monroe released his 13th solo studio album, Outerstellar, on 20 February 2026 via Silver Lining Music.
Monroe and his band co-headlined a UK tour with Buckcherry in support of Outerstellar, kicking off in Southampton on 24 February 2026.
Monroe announced Outerstellar and released the lead single 'Rockin' Horse' in October 2025.
Monroe returned to the US West Coast for the first time in nine years, playing shows in Las Vegas and Hollywood in April 2025.
Monroe announced a UK headline tour for May 2025 following a sold-out show at London's Electric Ballroom.
