Sting is a British singer, songwriter and bassist, born Gordon Sumner in 1951 in Wallsend, England. He rose to fame as the frontman of The Police before launching a long solo career that spans rock, pop, jazz and world music. Songs like "Roxanne" and "Every Breath You Take" remain among his most recognisable work.
