About

Taake is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, active since 1993 under the name Thule before Hoest (Ørjan Stedjeberg) renamed it in 1995 - 'taake' being the old spelling of the Norwegian word for fog. Hoest is the sole permanent member, writing all the music and singing all lyrics in his native Norwegian dialect, printed in Norse runes. The debut trilogy (1999-2005) built the band's cult reputation, and eight studio albums later Taake remains one of the most uncompromising voices in true Norwegian black metal.
