About

Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Jessheim, formed in 1993. Over ten studio albums they built a reputation for fusing extreme metal with full orchestral arrangements - a direction that made them one of the genre's most commercially successful acts, with over a million albums sold worldwide. Vocalist Shagrath and guitarist Silenoz are the only remaining founding members; the band released their tenth album, Grand Serpent Rising, in May 2026 via Nuclear Blast.
