Dark Funeral is a Swedish black metal band from Stockholm, founded in 1993 by guitarist Lord Ahriman and Blackmoon. Their 1996 debut full-length 'The Secrets of the Black Arts' established them as one of the defining acts of the second wave of black metal, and they have since released seven studio albums, toured 45 countries, and won both Sweden's P3 Guld award and Germany's Metal Hammer Award for 'Where Shadows Forever Reign' (2016).
Dark Funeral announced the live album 'A Beast to Praise', recorded in Stockholm in 2022, due out August 21, 2026 via Century Media Records.
Dark Funeral were announced as special guests on the Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir 'In League With Satan' European co-headline tour in October 2026, covering 14 cities including Helsinki and Stockholm.
Dark Funeral completed their 'Let The Devil In' European headline tour - their first European headline run in eight years - spanning 21 shows across Europe and the UK.
A 30th Anniversary Edition of the band's 1994 self-titled debut mini-CD was released via Century Media Records, featuring re-recorded versions of all four original tracks.
The band confirmed that writing for a new full-length studio album is underway, with a planned release in 2027.
