About

Thyrfing is a Swedish viking metal band from Stockholm, founded in 1995 and named after the cursed sword Tyrfing of Norse mythology. Over eight studio albums - from their 1998 self-titled debut through to 'Vanagandr' (2021) - they have built a reputation as one of the genre's most consistent acts, blending melodic black metal with Old Norse themes. The band celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2025 with a run of special shows across Sweden.
