Web Web is a German experimental jazz group built on freedom and improvisation without hierarchies. The music is raw and immediate, with members listening to each other and daring to release their grip on control.
Web Web is a Munich-based jazz quartet - Roberto Di Gioia (keys), Tony Lakatos (saxophone), Christian von Kaphengst (bass) and Peter Gall (drums) - founded in 2016 and signed to the independent Compost Records. Described by Süddeutsche Zeitung as a German jazz supergroup, the band draws on spiritual jazz, ethio-jazz, krautrock and acid jazz, recording everything in one take with no fixed hierarchy of roles. Since their 2017 debut Oracle they have released seven albums, including two collaborative records with rapper and producer Max Herre.
Web Web released Kover Kover on 24 April 2026 via Compost Records, their first album consisting entirely of cover versions, reinterpreting 14 songs by artists including Nirvana, Talking Heads, Grace Jones and Black Sabbath.
Web Web released Plexus Plexus on 25 April 2025, their sixth album, featuring krautrock guitarist JJ Whitefield as a guest and described as more psychedelic and krauty than previous records.
Web Web and Max Herre released WEB MAX II on 27 October 2023 via Compost Records, their second collaborative album and the band's fifth overall.
