Guided tours at Gothenburg Fish Auction

Since 1910, Gothenburg Fish Auction has been central to supplying the city with fresh fish and seafood. Every weekday morning, fish merchants and wholesalers gather to see what the night's catch contains.

Sjömatsfrämjandet arranges guided tours where the group learns about common and unusual food fish species. If you're lucky, a fishing boat will be docked with a catch landed overnight. The visit concludes with hot drinks and cake, plus a short presentation at the adjacent training centre.

Warm clothing is recommended and long hair should be tied up, as the tour passes through refrigerated food facilities. Places are limited - registration is required at info@sjomatsframjandet.se. Price: 100 kronor per person; children and young people up to and including 16 years are free. Payment is made by Swish on site.
