Jesus Christ Superstar is the rock opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. First released as a concept album in 1970 - featuring Deep Purple's singer Ian Gillan as Jesus and Murray Head as Judas - it transformed the musical world by bringing rock music together with biblical storytelling.
The cast includes Martin Stokke Mathiesen as Jesus, Petter Snive as Judas, Johanna Kylberg as Mary Magdalene, Fredrik Lexfors as Pilate, and John-Alexander Eriksson as Herod. A large ensemble and musicians also perform.
