Detached from Others - Convoi Exceptionnel / Jon R Skulberg

Detached from Others is a musical and choreographic work in which Jon R. Skulberg and dancer Kenzo Kusuda explore the solitary body through organ music. Kusuda embodies the ambivalence of loneliness - the tension between chosen isolation and the feeling of being involuntarily disconnected from the world.

The organ music is composed by Lil Lacy, with the organ as a solitary instrument isolated in a room with its own acoustic resonance. In the work, the organ meets itself in several recorded layers that are mixed together in a quadrophonic sound system. The organist is David Bendix Nielsen. The music is recorded and mixed by Preben Iwan, the costume designed by Koh Taniguchi, and the dramaturgy developed in collaboration with Astrid Hansen Holm.
