I list & lust

I list & lust comprises two short comic baroque operas with 300 years of history: Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's "La serva padrona" and Georg Philipp Telemann's "Pimpinone". The shared theme is servant girls who scheme to climb socially - and hopefully gain a little love in the process. The production is modernized and adapted for touring, with baroque music accompanied by more contemporary elements.

Love, relationships, and work were probably just as complicated in the 18th century as they are today. We meet a smart and resourceful woman in two different historical periods who does everything she can to outwit her employer - or perhaps just outwits herself. If everything goes wrong, there is hopefully still a chance for a second opportunity, maybe even true love.
