Gropen — Nora kulturhus, konsthallen, Nora

Behind the gymnasium lies Gropen - a place where someone once dug away piles of gravel. Now there are bushes and stumps, branches and stones. And you can be there and play. Anything. For as long as you want. Everyone loves Gropen. Except the adults. They hate Gropen.

Gropen is a life-affirming story about children's right to play and imagination, and a reminder of the importance of untouched spaces and unstructured play - but also about letting go of control sometimes and finding new paths. In 2020, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child became law in Sweden. The story of Gropen offers a good starting point for conversations with children about their rights and participation.

The performance is based on Emma Adbåge's book and is performed by Danny Eriksson and Nadja Franke.

Direction, puppets and dramatization: Anna Mannerheim. Set design and costumes: Linda Irenedotter Ingemansson. Original music: Emelie Fawcus Sundin and Måra Stegard. Photographer: Jörgen Stegard. Producer: Cirkus Tigerbrand.
