Núx brúx - Norrdans / Chara Kotsali

Núx brúx is a dance performance by Greek choreographer Chara Kotsali, performed by the Norrdans international ensemble. The performance is a physical and sonic ritual about the night - a carnivalesque world of revolt, tenderness, togetherness and metamorphosis, inhabited by nocturnal creatures and revolutionary stories.

Núx is the ancient Greek word for "night", while brúx derives from the root for teeth grinding. Together they form Núx brúx - a poetic description of teeth grinding at night.

Chara Kotsali is a choreographer, dancer and teacher based in Greece. She teaches contemporary dance at Rallou Manou and Marmarinou Professional Schools of Dance and has been a guest teacher and choreographer at Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) and several other institutions across Europe. With a background in theatre studies, social and cultural anthropology and professional percussion training, she explores choreography at the intersection of anthropology, documentary art, music and movement. Her solo work to be possessed (2023) received an honourable mention at ImPulsTanz Festival, and borborygmi (2024) won the audience prize at Athens Epidaurus Festival and is now touring internationally. Kotsali is an Aerowaves Twenty24 artist, Onassis AiR Fellow 2024-2025 and part of the Visiting Artists Programme 2025.

Ticket sales begin 11 August at 12.00. Introduction at 18.30 in the Bistro. The performance is aimed at audiences aged 13 and above.
