Landshövdingehus and the Modern Fight for Preservation
Göteborgs stadsmuseum, Gothenburg
Ingår i museets entrébiljett. Fri entré för alla under 20 år
Filip Laurits is a gardener at Gothenburg Botanical Garden, literary scholar, author, and chairman of Föreningen FASAD. He lived for over ten years in one of Södra Gård's threatened landshövdingehus buildings, and that struggle became the foundation for the organization.
Föreningen FASAD works to preserve and develop quality buildings that are being demolished today under the arguments of reuse and energy efficiency. Among the organization's engagements are Valhallabadet, demolition plans at Näckrosdammen and Sahlgrenska, and the landshövdingehus quarter Tuppfjätet in Kville - where FASAD appealed the demolition permit together with partner organizations, but the court sided with the property owner and the quarter is now being demolished.
In the lecture, Filip Laurits tells the story of Föreningen FASAD's background and the modern struggle to preserve Gothenburg's landshövdingehus buildings.
