Skånska Maffian

Skånska Maffian was formed in 2008 by Miko Walldén and released their debut album in 2010. The band freely blends styles and features unexpected elements such as opera singers, a children's choir, and Miko's 90-year-old mother - instrumentally seasoned with accordion, violin, trumpet, banjo and much more.

Their repertoire is broad: a jazzy version of Kal P Dal's JONNIE, the party song EN ÖL ÄNDÅ, Glenmark's MARE MARE in reggae arrangement, and the audience favourite JADÅ!. They were the first in the world to celebrate Glenmark's songwriting and create language versions of Peps' timeless OH BOY. Miko's composition PÅ MIN BALKONG represented P4 Malmöhus in the national final of Svensktoppen Nästa. The band has paid tribute to places like Möllevångstorget, the Malmö-Copenhagen route, and Landskrona-Hven, created a Scanian tribute to AC/DC, and breathed new life into Dan Tillberg's version of Rolling Stones' Get Off My Cloud. Following Östen Warnebrink's passing, DET VAR LÄNGE SEN JAG PLOCKA NÅGRA BLOMMOR received a new arrangement that channels both Wilmer and Peps, and in collaboration with a correctional facility, the heavy LÅNGSAMT was created.
