Papperssvalan is a poetic dance performance for children aged 5-8, where play, curiosity and seriousness exist side by side. Paper comes to life, is explored and transformed through dance - and the question posed is: where does an object end and the soul begin?

The title carries two symbols: the swallow as a sign of homecoming and new beginnings, and paper as an image of both vulnerability and creativity. The performance touches on themes of identity, the courage to be yourself and the simplicity of creativity - but also its power. Birds are highlighted as symbols across cultures and mythologies worldwide, from Japan's crane (loyalty and love) to the dove as a messenger of peace and the swallow as a promise of something new.

After the performance, there is an opportunity to continue working at home or in the classroom - for example with paper and cardboard art or origami folding - and to discuss feelings, creativity and identity.
