LADY SINGS LADY - A Tribute to Billie Holiday
200 kr · ≈ $21
Billie Holiday Jazz Club returns to Palladium with the acclaimed show Lady Sings Lady - A Tribute to Billie Holiday. On 28 September, Lady Lynette performs her interpretation of Lady Day - an evening of music, stories, and jazz classics. 🎷
The show was originally created in 2009 to mark the 50th anniversary of Billie Holiday's death and was revived in 2015 for the centenary of her birth. Critics have praised how "Lady Lynette interpreted her personal favourite with dynamism and authority" in a "philosophically and humorously coloured account of Billie Holiday's life story", highlighting the show's dramatic intensity, swing, and accomplished quintet.
Lady Lynette (Lynette Koyana Bjerstedt) was born in South Africa and began her career as a jazz singer in Swaziland before settling in Sweden. She has performed worldwide, including touring in Japan and working as a backing vocalist for Tom Jones.
Venue: Marble Foyer, Palladium. Outdoor seating opens at 18:00. Concert: 20:00-02:00. Age limit: 18+.
