ABOUT THE RESTLESS

Villads Littauer Bendixen's work is based on the play "De Hvileløse" (2001) by Eva Littauer, which depicts a family's rise and fall across three scenes. The instruments mirror the three actors: the embittered man (cello), the depressed wife (violin), and the young, restless son (piano).

ABOUT VILLADS LITTAUER BENDIXEN

Villads Littauer Bendixen (b. 2001) is a Danish violinist and composer, currently a diploma student at Musikhögskolan i Malmö. He began his studies in Småland and continued in Berlin, where from 2011 to 2020 he was a guest student at Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" under Michael Erxleben and Zoya Nevgodovska, while also studying at the C. Ph. E. Bach gymnasium.

He subsequently studied at Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo and Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen under Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider and Peter Herresthal. He is now active in the Artist Diploma programme at Musikhögskolan i Malmö under Jörgen Svensson. As a composer, he studies under Bent Sørensen.

As a violinist, he has participated in masterclasses with Vilde Frang, Milan Vitek, and Dora Schwarzberg, among others. He has received second prize at DR's Vidunderbørn and a gold medal at the Berlingske Tidende classical music competition.
