Piteå Kammaropera brings the newly written opera "De sår vind och skall skörda storm" to Gällivare on Saturday, 3 October 2026 at 7 p.m., performing at Folkets Hus, Blå Forell. The opera explores passion, religion and blood revenge set in Norrbotten. At its heart is Maj-Britt, a Laestadian widow who harbours forbidden feelings for her friend Sune. Three elderly women confront her and demand she end the relationship, warning that she risks eternal damnation if she refuses. Piteå Kammaropera is touring three Swedish venues, with Gällivare as one of the stops.
