Jazz i Kuben: Radiojazzgruppen with Karl-Martin Almqvist

Radiojazzgruppen returns to Malmö, this time in collaboration with tenor saxophonist and composer Karl-Martin Almqvist. The concert unfolds in two parts: first, music from the Swedish jazz tradition shaped by Radiojazzgruppen's musicians during the 1960s and 1970s, presented in new arrangements for today's specially assembled ensemble - then new works by contemporary composers and arrangers who carry the legacy forward.

Karl-Martin Almqvist has performed with Jan Garbarek, Sonny Rollins and Stan Getz, recorded numerous albums and toured worldwide for more than three decades.

Radiojazzgruppen restarted in 2023 and has since performed with various lineups and collaborated with Georg Riedel, Nikki Iles, Ann-Sofi Söderqvist, Svante Henryson, Sirintip and Fabia Mantwill, among others, as well as presented a tribute to Bengt-Arne Wallin. The group has previously performed at Berwaldhallen, Fasching, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm and Malmö Live Konserthus.
