Lecture: Growing Food Year-Round

How do you harvest food twelve months a year - and what do you do with the harvest? These are the topics of Kristina Olsson's lecture.

She covers variety selection for both beginners and experienced growers, discusses perennial vegetables that return each year, and explains how she plans her plantings across seasons. In "Kristina's Oasis" - the lecturer's villa garden in Näsum - rainwater and homegrown seeds are collected, and cultivation is managed with a focus on biological diversity to keep pests at bay. Kristina Olsson founded the Näsum growers' network, has grown food since childhood on a farm, and harvested a quarter ton from her garden in 2024.
