Verdi's Otello is broadcast to cinemas worldwide on 24 April 2027, and Gideågården is one of them. The title role is sung by Brian Jagde, one of today's leading dramatic tenors. The opera premiered in 1887 and is based on Shakespeare's tale of a great hero unable to master his jealousy - a libretto that Arrigo Boito crafted into something both taut and powerful.

Soprano Ailyn Pérez makes her Met debut as Desdemona, and baritone Artur Ruciński plays Iago. Michele Mariotti conducts the Met Orchestra and Chorus. The performance has 1 intermission.
