Concert: Michael Germer & Andreas Brantelid

A concert featuring violinist Michael Germer and cellist Andreas Brantelid, arranged in collaboration with Musik i Syd Malmö. The concert takes place on Wednesday 28 October at 16:45 in Utställningshallen at malmö konsthall. Free admission, no registration required.

The evening opens with two solo works: Andreas Brantelid performs Benjamin Britten's "Suite No. 3 for Solo Cello" op. 87 (1971), and Michael Germer presents Eugène Ysaÿe's "Solo Sonata No. 4 in E Minor for Solo Violin" op. 74:4 (1923). They then join together for Maurice Ravel's "Sonata for Violin and Cello" (1920-22).

Andreas Brantelid (b. 1987) made his debut at age 14 with Det Kongelige Kapel in Copenhagen and won "Eurovision Young Musicians" in Vienna in 2006. He tours with leading orchestras worldwide and is a cello lecturer at the Malmö Academy of Music.

Michael Germer (b. 2002) made his solo debut at DR Koncerthuset in 2021 and has won several awards, including Danish Radio's P2 "Talentpris" and second prize at the Singapore International Violin Competition 2026. In the 2026-2027 season, he performs as a soloist with symphony orchestras in Lyon, Odense and Ålborg, playing violin concertos by Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.
