About

Augustin Hadelich (born 1984 in Cecina, Italy) is a dual American-German violinist who grew up on a farm in rural Tuscany and overcame severe burn injuries at age 15 to build one of the most celebrated solo careers in classical music today. He won the Gold Medal at the 2006 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and a Grammy Award in 2016 for Best Classical Instrumental Solo. A Warner Classics artist and Yale faculty member since 2021, he performs regularly with the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and all major American orchestras.
