Bruno Bavota is an Italian composer and multi-instrumentalist born in Naples in 1984, whose music moves between neo-classical piano, chamber textures and synthesizer-driven electronics. He releases on Brooklyn's Temporary Residence Ltd - home also to Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky - and has built a devoted following among listeners drawn to modern classical, ambient and experimental sounds. Early in his career he was compared to Ludovico Einaudi, but Bavota has steadily pushed toward a more personal and disruptive sound, often manipulating his piano in real time with effects pedals and processors during live performances.
