Dutch pianist Joep Beving presents contemporary classical music at Vävenscenen.
Joep Beving (born 1976, Doetinchem) is a Dutch pianist and composer whose minimalist solo piano music has drawn over one billion streams across his catalogue. He came to music late as a professional - a wrist injury cut short his conservatory studies, and he spent years writing music for advertising before self-releasing his debut album Solipsism in 2015. It went viral on Spotify, catching the ear of Deutsche Grammophon, who signed him and have released all his subsequent work, including the Henosis trilogy and the 2022 album Hermetism.
Beving released his new album Liminal on Deutsche Grammophon on 20 March 2026, a 15-track work blending solo piano with electronics, inspired by Guillaume Logé's book Wild Renaissance.
Beving launched the Liminal Tour across Europe, with Nordic dates including Umeå, Helsinki and Oslo in September 2026.
Solipsism Redux, a re-recorded version of his 2015 debut marking its 10th anniversary, was released on 22 August 2025 via Deutsche Grammophon.
Beving performed the Solipsism 10th Anniversary tour, with a concert at Bristol Beacon in November 2025.
Beving passed the milestone of one billion streams across his UMG catalogue.
