Epiphany Concert

The concert opens with the overture to Wagner's opera "The Flying Dutchman", followed by Senta's aria from the same opera performed by soprano Åsa Jäger - known to Umeå audiences from the 2025 autumn production of Tristan and Isolde. Trumpeter Ellinor Bengtsson is the soloist in Hummel's trumpet concerto and in "Carnival in Venice". The programme also features music by Kodály, Strauss, Suppé and Lehár.

After the interval, the audience will hear the second movement of Dvorák's symphony "From the New World", Wagner's "Liebestod" from Tristan and Isolde, and concluding with Lumbye's "Copenhagen Railway Steam Galop".
