Finnish rock band Dingo performs at Debaser Strand. Classic albums like Nimeni on Dingo and Kerjäläisten valtakunta established them as one of Finland's most influential music groups.
Dingo is a Finnish rock band formed in 1982 in Pori, led by singer-songwriter Pertti Neumann. Their first two albums, Nimeni on Dingo (1984) and Kerjäläisten valtakunta (1985), each sold over 100,000 copies and triggered a wave of fan hysteria - dubbed 'Dingomania' - that remains unmatched in Finnish pop culture history. The band broke up in 1986, has reunited several times since, and continues to tour; their total Finnish record sales exceed 500,000 copies.
The biographical film 'Levoton Tuhkimo', inspired by Dingo's story and directed by Mari Rantasila, had its nationwide Finnish premiere on 25 December 2024.
The film had been seen by over 100,000 viewers within its first two weeks of release in Finland.
Dingo played six special anniversary shows across major Finnish festivals to mark the 40th anniversary of their debut album 'Nimeni on Dingo'.
Dingo performed at Billnäs ironworks (Billnäsin ruukki) in May 2025, with the band's renewed profile boosted by the Christmas 2024 film release.
A Dingo concert at Rytmikorjaamo in Seinäjoki is listed for 16 October 2026.
