Eddie & the Hot Rods are a British pub rock band from Essex, formed in 1975, who helped bridge the gap between pub rock and the emerging punk scene. Their 1977 single "Do Anything You Wanna Do" reached number 9 on the UK Singles Chart and remains their signature track. Founder and frontman Barrie Masters died in October 2019, after which the band continued under the lead vocals of longtime bassist Ian 'Dipster' Dean. They released their first studio album in 16 years, Guardians of the Legacy, in April 2023.
The band played a live show at The Assembly in Royal Leamington Spa in January 2025, continuing their active UK touring schedule.
Eddie & the Hot Rods performed at the Darwen Live Main Stage festival in May 2024.
The band released Guardians of the Legacy, their first studio album in 16 years, via Renaissance Records and Outro Records.
The single "Paradise" from the new album reached number one on the worldwide Legacy Music Chart.
Founding vocalist Barrie Masters, the band's only constant member across its history, died on 2 October 2019 at the age of 63.
