Eroica is Beethoven's Third Symphony, composed in 1803-04. Written in E-flat major, it runs close to an hour - far longer than anything typical of the time. Beethoven reportedly called it "greater than all previous" works, and it is widely regarded as a turning point toward musical Romanticism.
