Hello, Dolly! is a musical with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, based on Thornton Wilder's 1955 play The Matchmaker. It follows the witty widow and matchmaker Dolly Levi. The show opened on Broadway in 1964 and became one of the most performed musicals of all time. A film version starring Barbra Streisand followed in 1969.
