Imperial Triumphant is a New York City avant-garde metal trio formed in 2005 by vocalist and guitarist Zachary Ezrin, completed by bassist Steve Blanco and drummer Kenny Grohowski. The band weaves black metal, free jazz and dissonant composition into a sound rooted in the architecture and decay of New York City, performing in golden masks and black robes. Their 2020 album Alphaville brought them wide recognition in extreme metal circles, and the 2025 follow-up Goldstar - recorded in five days at Colin Marston's Menegroth Studios - landed on year-end lists at Metal Injection, Decibel and Metal Hammer.
Bassist Steve Blanco released Imprints of Man (November 15, 2025), a solo album of piano reinterpretations of Imperial Triumphant's catalog via Century Media Records.
Imperial Triumphant toured Europe in October 2025 as support for Igorrr, playing cities including Hamburg, Paris, London and Manchester.
Goldstar, the band's sixth studio album, was released on March 21, 2025 via Century Media Records to positive critical reviews, landing on year-end lists at Metal Injection (#6), Decibel (#13) and Metal Hammer (#13).
The band announced Goldstar details and released the single 'Lexington Delirium' featuring Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake on January 16, 2025.
Imperial Triumphant have a European headline tour announced for November-December 2026, covering Munich, Vienna, Kraków, Warsaw, Copenhagen, London, Leeds and Glasgow among other cities.
