Los Kjarkas
Bolivian folk music legends Los Kjarkas take the stage at Göta Lejon in Stockholm.
Los Kjarkas is a Bolivian Andean folk band from Capinota, Cochabamba, founded in 1965 by the Hermosa brothers - Gonzalo, Elmer and Ulises. Playing charango, quena, zampoña and bombo, they have spent six decades carrying Bolivian rhythms such as huayno and saya to audiences across South America, Europe, Japan and Scandinavia. Their song "Llorando se fue" became the melodic source for Kaoma's 1989 global hit "Lambada", and the band has since built a catalog of over 350 original compositions sung in Spanish and Quechua. Beyond performing, they founded music schools in Lima and Ecuador dedicated to Andean folk education.
Los Kjarkas are scheduled to perform in Manassas, VA and Elizabeth, NJ in August 2026.
The band played Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago, Chile in May 2026.
Los Kjarkas performed at Tulum Night Club in Brooklyn, NY in November 2025.
The band played concerts in Malmö (Sweden), London and Berlin during their April 2025 European tour.
Los Kjarkas released their most recent studio album, "Así Suena Bolivia", in January 2021.
