Mnozil Brass is an Austrian brass septet founded in 1992, when seven graduates of the Vienna College of Music began playing together at the Gasthaus Mnozil near the conservatory. The group pairs conservatory-level virtuosity with slapstick comedy and theatrical wit - a combination that has earned them the nickname 'the Monty Python of the music world' and sold-out houses on every continent. Their repertoire spans brass classics, opera, jazz, schlager and pop, all filtered through a distinctly dark Austrian sense of humour. In 2006 they won the Salzburger Stier, Austria's top cabaret prize.
