Orchestra Six is a jazz sextet from southern Sweden, assembled by drummer, composer and arranger Lars Beijbom. The group draws on funk, blues and soul alongside straight-ahead jazz, and critics have noted that six players produce a sound closer to a full big band. Beijbom previously led the Beijbom-Kroner Big Band with Danish trombonist Erling Kroner and has played in Radiojazzgruppen and Red Mitchell's Communication; the sextet's other members rank among the most experienced jazz soloists in the region.
