About

Queens of the Stone Age is an American rock band formed in 1996 by guitarist and vocalist Josh Homme, who built the group out of the ashes of his previous band Kyuss in Palm Desert, California. Their sound fuses heavy riff-driven rock with stoner rock, psychedelia and elements of blues and krautrock - anchored by Homme's distinctive falsetto. The 2002 album Songs for the Deaf, recorded with Dave Grohl on drums, broke them internationally, and the band has since released eight studio albums, topped the Billboard 200 with ...Like Clockwork (2013), and collected nine Grammy nominations.
