The Bad Plus concludes its 25-year career with a farewell tour. The jazz trio performs from their extensive catalog at Nefertiti in Göteborg.
Reid Anderson is an American bassist and composer from Minnesota, best known as a co-founder of The Bad Plus. Formed in 2000 with drummer Dave King and pianist Ethan Iverson, the group built a reputation for pairing original compositions with audacious readings of rock and electronic music - a formula that earned them a devoted following far beyond the usual jazz circuit. Anderson has also led his own ensembles and released several albums under his own name, with his writing praised for its lyrical accessibility.
The Bad Plus added final international dates to their 2026 farewell tour, including a three-night stand at Blue Note Tokyo (Oct. 17-19) and their debut shows in Australia.
The Bad Plus expanded their farewell tour with new US Southwest and Midwest dates for September and October 2026, following a European leg in July.
Founding members Reid Anderson and Dave King announced that 2026 will be the final year of The Bad Plus, ending the band's 26-year run.
The Bad Plus released Complex Emotions on Mack Avenue Records, their second album as a quartet with guitarist Ben Monder and saxophonist Chris Speed.
The Bad Plus announced a special tribute tour with pianist Craig Taborn and saxophonist Chris Potter, performing a tribute to Keith Jarrett's American Quartet across North America and Europe.
