About

The Embassy is a Swedish pop duo from Gothenburg, formed in 1999 by guitarist and vocalist Fredrik Lindson and keyboardist-programmer Torbjörn Håkansson. Drawing on disco, post-punk, balearic house and a deep love of New Order, they built a cult following through five albums and a deliberately anti-rock attitude that influenced a whole generation of Scandinavian acts - among them Jens Lekman, The Tough Alliance and Studio, whose labels took their names from Embassy songs. Their second album Tacking (2005) is widely regarded as a landmark of Swedish underground pop.
