Jens Lekman (born 1981 in Angered, Gothenburg) is a Swedish indie pop singer-songwriter known for his witty, melancholic storytelling and sample-rich arrangements. He broke through with his 2004 debut When I Said I Wanted to Be Your Dog and cemented his reputation with the 2007 chamber-pop landmark Night Falls Over Kortedala. In September 2025 he released his seventh album, Songs for Other People's Weddings - a 17-track concept record co-conceived with novelist David Levithan, rooted in his two decades of performing as a wedding singer.
Lekman released his seventh studio album Songs for Other People's Weddings on 12 September 2025 via Secretly Canadian, accompanied by a companion novel co-written with David Levithan.
The album received broadly positive reviews, with critics praising its orchestral scope and Lekman's storytelling across 17 tracks.
Lekman completed a North American tour in support of the album, with shows in Minneapolis, Chicago, Brooklyn, Washington DC, and Durham among others.
Lekman is touring Sweden and Norway in February 2026, with dates in Uppsala, Helsingborg, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Malmö, and Oslo.
